The smart and stylish Daphne, who has five children with Wayans, says that divorce did not stop her from going back to being Keenen’s friend, creating a healthy structure for their kids, or cultivating her personal growth and friendships.
’ So this season is great because I’m able to answer a lot of questions that the fans were wondering what happened. My response on Arsenio [Hall] was “I think black people just have more fun”.
We met before…and she was so sweet, we we’re all friendly…I showed up this season to shoot, she was like ‘We can’t be friends when we’re on set. Once we’re done with these scenes I can be friendly with you.’ She’s funny, we totally get along. Honestly, until people say that to me, I just don’t think about that. I don’t mean to say white people don’t have more fun but black people just have more fun. [Black people] are expressive and I know that’s a generalization…it makes me feel like I have more freedom to be free and more myself.
In fact, she’s been friends with Sheree Fletcher and Nicole Murphy for two decades.
So it might appear that Daphne Wayans came out of nowhere to join the reality TV bandwagon, but she’s been herself all along, and now we get to see the woman who was just a girl when she met the Wayans family.
I learned a lot from him being that I was very young. We were together for about 13 or 14 years; 15 is an easy round number to say.
